We Are the Audience: A Participatory Short Film on Stuttering Representation
In We Are the Audience, people who stutter question how the world sees them and advocate for how they wish to be seen. Blending documentary intimacy with cinematic craft, this film offers a rare portrayal of a group of people who stutter as together they conceive a new future for dysfluent voices.
Co-created in partnership with the stuttering community and featuring a score by a composer who stutters, the film reflects on identity, belonging, and the quiet but powerful influence of what we place on screen.
We Are the Audience invites viewers to listen, and imagine what’s possible when we decide to create change. The film is a collaborative project between research centres and community organizations.
